Blackstone Chambers has once again been rated the top barristers’ chambers in Sports Law by the recently published ‘Chambers & Partners UK Bar Guide 2015

The guide said:

‘Blackstone Chambers is acknowledged as the leading sports set at the Bar. The breadth of its barristers' sports law expertise enables it to represent clients from across all sporting arenas and in all areas of sports law. Its members are frequently instructed directly by governing bodies and sporting organisations to act on employment, disciplinary and doping disputes, as well as a wide range of commercial disputes. The set stands apart from its peers for sports work: no other set can match either the breadth of its expertise or the sheer number of its sports experts.

Client service: "The clerks at Blackstone know who to bring on to sports matters and know which barristers will play well with which clients." "They have a man or a woman for every job. You know if you go to the clerk and your first choice is taken, their second choice will still have the experience to meet your needs."’

Amongst the barristers from Blackstone recommended in the Directory, Adam Lewis QC was rated ‘star silk’, and Ian Mill QC top ranked, David Pannick QC, Michael Beloff QC, Andrew Hunter QC, Andrew Green QC, Robert Howe QC, Pushpinder Saini QC, and Paul Goulding QC all highly recommended silks. Kate Gallafent QC and Jane Mulcahy QC who were previously highly ranked as juniors, are now recommended in the New Silks category.

Nick De Marco is top ranked and Brian Kennelly, James Segan, Tom Richards, Tom Hickman and Tom Mountford are all recommended junior counsel.

The other leading independent legal directory, Legal 500 2014, was published in late September and it too ranks Blackstone Chambers in the top band for Sports law.  “Blackstone Chambers is ‘the best set for sports work by quite some distance'.”
